We are a small butter factory located on the Bellarine Peninsula seeking candidates willing to work in a team in a casual capacity - with the advancement to Part or Full Time to join our passionate team.
Candidates must have a passion for food and a love for artisan methods and ethos. We thrive on small and develop premium fermented dairy products. We are not production line processors.
Successful applicant will be required to help in our team to ensure the production of butter and other fermented dairy products are made to the highest standards. Tasks include operating machines, filling bottles & tubs, stock rotation and control, forming butter, cleaning and inventory.
Strong appreciation for food is a must, including a good knowledge of food manufacturing and preparation. Good understanding of workplace health and safety is important to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor machinery and products on the production line.
- Assist in the bottling and packaging of cream-based products.
- Set up, shut down, and clean production equipment following hygiene and safety standards.
- Check product quality and complete relevant records and paperwork.
- Package materials or products for storage or delivery.
- Move materials and products safely between production and storage areas.
- Follow production schedules and instructions accurately.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment issues, safety concerns, or product irregularities.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitising work areas and equipment.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to meet production targets.
- Adhere to all WHS and GMP requirements, policies, and procedures
About You
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
- Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and food safety standards.
- Understanding of hygiene requirements and WHS procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently both independently and in a team.
- Own reliable transport and current driver’s licence.
- Physically fit and able to complete manual tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods.
- Fluency in English language.
- A demonstrated interest and passion for artisan food, with an enthusiasm for learning and working with premium dairy products.
