Moe (South Street) Primary School is centrally located in the township of Moe, in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland, Victoria. The school has a strong and proud reputation within the community and has a current enrolment of approximately 240 students.
South Street Primary School prides itself on building strong relationships with our students and families to ensure students are connected to their school and local community.
Our partnership with the Moe Early Learning Centre, located adjacent to our school, provides excellent ongoing services for families from birth through to high school. We are also active participants in the Moe Southside Community User group, allowing for the shared use of recreational facilities at Ted Summerton Reserve.

Welfare is guided by the School‑Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program (PB4L), Berry Street Education Model, and Restorative Practices. Students and families have access to a Wellbeing Team that includes a Wellbeing Coordinator, Disability Inclusion Coordinator, School Nurse, and Chaplain.
Teachers collaborate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) to improve student outcomes. Specialist programs include: Visual Arts, STEM, Physical Education, Performing Arts.
Extra‑curricular activities: a camping program for Grades 3‑6, a swimming program for Grades Prep‑6, district, division and regional sporting events, and regular incursions and excursions aligned to learning.

* SC5. Interpersonal and communication skills
o Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in individual, small group and community contexts.
Role
The assistant principal reports directly to the principal and manages significant areas of the school to ensure effective development, provision, and evaluation of the education program.
Responsibilities include strategic decision‑making on programme, budget, and staff within their domain, participation in policy formulation, and oversight of educational outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Supervision and coordination of senior curriculum or level coordinators.
* Allocation of budgets, positions of responsibility, and other resources.
* Supervision of delivery of teaching programmes.
* Management of staff development programmes to enhance professional knowledge.
* Responsibility for general discipline matters beyond classroom teachers and year‑level coordinators.
* Contribution to overall school management.
Who May Apply
Appropriately qualified individuals currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Qualification Requirements
* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* For those who completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program on or after 1 January 2024, proof of completion of a postgraduate level accredited initial teacher education program.
* For graduates of a Victorian ITE program after 1 July 2016, demonstration of LANTITE requirements if applicable.
