Expressions of Interest - Regional Public Health GP
Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Nambucca Valley and Coffs Harbour
Fixed term for 12 months, part-time 12 hours per week.
Werin Aboriginal Corporation, in partnership with Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service, Galambila Aboriginal Corporation and the Healthy North Coast Aboriginal Health Partnership, invites Expressions of Interest from experienced General Practitioners to undertake a Regional Public Health GP role supporting Aboriginal primary health care across the Mid North Coast.
Who we are
The Healthy North Coast (HNC) Aboriginal Health Partnership brings together six Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people across the North Coast Primary Health Network region. The Partnership fosters shared decision‐making, cultural safety, and collaborative action to deliver services that reflect the needs, priorities, and strengths of local communities.
This role will be based in the Mid North Coast. A similar role is in place in the Northern Rivers.
About the Role
The Regional Public Health GP will provide shared clinical leadership across Werin, Durri, Darrimba Maarra and Galambila, working in close partnership with CEOs, GP Clinical Leads and multidisciplinary clinical teams at each service.
While the position will be hosted and employed by Werin Aboriginal Corporation, the role is explicitly regional in scope and will operate across all three ACCHOs under formal agreements. The role is designed to support and strengthen existing services, not replace or duplicate local clinical, operational or management functions.
The position is funded for an initial 12‐month trial period, enabling the ACCHOs to assess impact, value and sustainability of the role as a shared regional function.
The position is a 12 hour per week position and will require and could be delivered as a contractor or employee. Travel to the ACCHOs will be required especially in the early stages of the role to build relationships with ACCHO clinicians and staff.
