Independent Milestones is a paediatric and youth occupational therapy service that supports children, young people, and their families across schools, homes, and community settings. Independent Milestones believe in meeting families where they are – literally and figuratively – and delivering therapy that is compassionate, playful, evidence-informed, and meaningful.
We’re currently looking for a passionate and independent Occupational Therapist to join our growing team in a community-based role that offers exceptional flexibility, variety, and professional autonomy.
About the Role
This role is for someone who thrives on variety, loves working closely with children and their families, and is excited by the opportunity to support kids in their everyday environments. Each day looks a little different – you might spend your morning helping a child with autism develop adaptable thinking at school, support a student with sensory processing challenges in building emotional literacy through play, or guide a caregiver through a challenge.

About You
- AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist
- Passionate about working with children and young people
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with children, families, and schools
- Able to work independently and manage a caseload
- Committed to strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming practice
- Driver’s licence and access to a car (essential)
Desirable
- Experience in paediatrics, school-based or community-based OT
- Knowledge of sensory processing, regulation supports, and trauma-informed practice
