What You\'ll Be Doing
A Trainee Sonographer is required to perform ultrasounds on inpatients and outpatients under the supervision of the Senior Sonographers. The trainee sonographer must work with the appointed clinical supervisor and endeavour to complete practical assessments as set out in the course requirements.
The trainee sonographer must endeavour to pass the examinations set out in the course requirements and as such must gain detailed knowledge in anatomy, physiology and pathology combined with a three dimensional conceptual understanding of sonographic anatomical appearances, normal variations and pathological processes.
Selection Criteria
* Are you a current employee of Southern NSW Local Health District
* Degree in Medical Science or equivalent.
* Current registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA) as a Radiographer and hold current NSW EPA Radiation license with current enrolment in postgraduate study in Medical Sonography or intention to enrol at for the next available Semester.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication skills both written and personal.
* Evidence of capacity to prioritise workload and achieve outcomes with demonstrated application of analysis and problem solving skills to a range of clinical situations to develop effective solutions.
* Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Demonstrated experience in an imaging modality such as, but not limited to, CT, or MRI.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking all tasks.
* Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
