Project Manager Civil Infrastructure | Sydney, NSW | Permanent | $140,000 – $180,000
IBG is working with a well-established infrastructure services joint venture to appoint a Project Manager into its Sydney-based delivery team. The business holds a long‐term performance contract covering maintenance and improvement of road infrastructure across a major metropolitan network. The role is full‐time permanent, reports to the Network Delivery Manager, and covers the full project lifecycle – methodology planning, estimation, tendering, subcontractor management, and site delivery. It suits an experienced civil infrastructure professional who is equally comfortable at a desk producing bid documentation and on‐site overseeing field works.
About the role
The Project Manager develops work methodology for maintenance programs and infrastructure projects, prepares estimates, produces tender documents, and contributes to bid strategy. Site oversight is part of the job – when assigned, you'll supervise maintenance, field works, and upgrade projects on the network. Subcontractor and supplier management, monthly cost and programme reporting, and driving continuous improvement across delivery processes round out the scope.
Key responsibilities
* Develop work methodology plans for maintenance programs, tactical and special projects
* Prepare estimates and produce tender documentation
* Contribute to bid strategy and business development activities
* Oversee site works across road infrastructure maintenance, field works, and upgrades
* Manage subcontractor and supplier performance to budget, programme, and specification
* Monitor progress and compile monthly reports covering cost, time, safety, and environment
* Ensure safety, environmental, and quality requirements are met across all delivery activities
Skills and experience
* 7+ years in project management within civil infrastructure, roads, or a related discipline
* Experience managing maintenance contracts, infrastructure upgrades, or multi‐discipline civil projects
* Background in road, structural, tunnel, or ITS environments highly regarded
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil or related Engineering, or Business
* Proficient in MS Project; strong estimating and contract administration background
* Able to manage subcontractors and field‐based teams, and produce clear project reporting
