Apply your clinical expertise in anaesthesia, acute pain and perioperative medicine to patients at the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals (RDPH).
RDPH is the principal tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia. Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH) is recognised as Australia's National Critical care and Trauma Response Centre, and Palmerston Regional Hospital (PRH) is a satellite campus providing elective surgical services.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist-level anaesthesia, acute pain and perioperative medicine services to the RDH, PRH and Surgical Outreach visits.
* Participate in the development of the discipline of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine and supervise Safety and Quality Improvement activities to ensure high quality standards.
* Provide emergency after-hours care and consultancy services on a roster basis.
* Participate in related education activities.
Qualifications
* Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent.
* Demonstrated ability to interact positively in a cross-cultural work environment.
* Commitment to providing and improving healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is essential.
Remuneration and Benefits
* Remuneration package including Private Practice allowance (up to 50% of base salary) and Extended Hours allowance (up to 25% of base salary).
* Professional Development allowance and 2 weeks Professional Development leave.
* 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave; Recreation Leave loading entitlement.
* Relocation assistance may be available for those residing outside the Northern Territory.
