About CAWLS
The Central Australian Women’s Legal Service (CAWLS) is a community legal centre supporting women across Central Australia and the Barkly Region. We provide legal help, education, and advocacy with a strong focus on domestic and family violence.
The Role
Based in Alice Springs, you’ll be part of our Health Justice Partnership, working closely with health providers to:
- Provide legal advice and representation in family law, domestic and family violence, and child protection matters
- Respond to referrals from hospitals and clinics
- Deliver outreach and community legal education
- Collaborate with health professionals to strengthen referral pathways and support women’s safety
What You’ll Bring
- Eligibility to hold a NT Practising Certificate
- Experience in family/domestic violence law (desirable)
- Solid communication, cultural awareness, and commitment to social justice
- Ability to work independently and in a close-knit team
- NT Driver’s Licence, Ochre Card, and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
- Competitive salary + 12% superannuation
- Relocation support up to $3,000
- Remote & travel allowances
- 6 weeks annual leave + 12 days personal leave
