Job Description 
The Role 
We're seeking an experienced 
Senior Farm Hand 
to join a busy horticultural farm in Virginia, South Australia. This role involves a mix of physical outdoor work and equipment operation, supporting crop production through planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities. You'll work alongside a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to high-quality outcomes across the farming operation. 
Key Responsibilities 
This position plays an important role in supporting the farm manager and ensuring efficient crop production. Duties include: 
Assisting with the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops 
Operating farm machinery and irrigation systems 
Performing crop care tasks such as weeding, thinning, and pruning 
Grading, sorting, storing, and treating harvested products 
Recognising defective or second-grade produce, including seasonal variations 
Carrying out basic machinery maintenance and cleaning 
Maintaining crop records (e.g., pesticide use, yields, costs) 
Applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilisers as directed 
Reporting production, quality, or safety concerns promptly 
Participating in training and development activities

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 
Experience in general farm duties such as planting, picking, and weed management 
Experience in Tractor Operation 
Ability to operate irrigation systems
