About You
You will be a hands‐on CEO or highly experienced General Manager who has previously held full P&L accountability, most likely combining experience across entrepreneurial SME environments and larger industrial organisations. You are an operationally credible leader from a continuous manufacturing or bulk materials environment who enjoys being close to the factory floor and the commercial heartbeat of a business. You combine strong operational discipline with commercial instinct. You understand lean manufacturing, preventative maintenance, and the importance of reliable production in supporting growth. You are comfortable leading experienced teams, strengthening capability where required and engaging directly with major customers to protect and expand key relationships. You are commercially sharp, financially literate, and capable of balancing operational priorities with long‐term strategic opportunities. Most importantly, you are energised by the opportunity to lead a well‐established industrial business and unlock its next phase of performance and growth.
About the Opportunity
This Chief Executive Officer role becomes available for the first time in over a decade due to the planned retirement of a long‐standing leader. This privately owned Australian SME is profitable, asset‐backed and well respected within its markets. The next CEO will inherit a stable platform with strong customer relationships and a capable leadership team. The mandate is not turnaround. It is operational optimisation and disciplined expansion. In the near term the focus will be on enhancing manufacturing efficiency, strengthening preventative maintenance and integrating approved capital investments designed to increase production capacity. As operational performance improves, attention will shift toward controlled commercial growth, strengthening strategic sales capability and advancing several longer‐term strategic land and infrastructure initiatives. This is a hands‐on leadership role where visibility, decisiveness, and the ability to move comfortably between the factory floor, customer conversations and Board engagement will be essential.
About the Company
This privately owned Queensland manufacturing business has operated successfully for more than three decades and is approaching the $100M revenue mark. The company produces and distributes a range of construction related materials and specialised building products, supplying national retail channels, trade distributors and construction markets across Australia. Operations are based in South East Queensland with additional infrastructure supporting national distribution. The business has developed a strong reputation for product quality, reliable supply and long‐standing customer partnerships. With new capital investment underway and several strategic initiatives progressing, the next phase of leadership will focus on improving operational productivity, protecting service performance and positioning the business for disciplined growth over the coming decade.
