Job Overview
As the Youth Worker, you will deliver strengths‐based case management to young people, supporting them in addressing vocational and non‐vocational barriers to employment. You will collaborate with the team to provide high‐quality services that enhance self‐efficacy by focusing on strengths and inherent abilities.
Responsibilities
* Undertake individual assessments and provide referrals to specialist assistance services.
* Develop and deliver group activities and workshops to build vocational, non‐vocational, life skills and work readiness.
* Collaborate with young people to set goals addressing non‐vocational barriers.
* Develop individual case plans, outline goals, and monitor progress and achievements.
* Participate in case conferencing with the job placement coach to ensure a unified approach.
* Challenge the status quo and advocate for the young person.
* Actively engage with the local community and secure referrals for young people.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV in Youth Work or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in youth work or a similar role, with effective case management of disengaged youth.
* Experience in developing strategies to overcome employment challenges faced by disadvantaged youth.
* Proven ability to deliver workshops and group facilitation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with networking ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including clients, government, community and business groups.
* Proficient skills in technology and systems; strong administrative capability.
* Unrestricted driver's licence.
