We are currently looking for a
Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer
to join our team for a
Heavy Civil Construction Project
in
Coffs Harbour.
-Location:
Coffs Harbour (100% On-site).
-Estimated Duration:
12-14 months- In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.
-Summary:
this position focuses on the testing, commissioning, and integration of low-voltage (LV) tunnel systems, particularly ventilation and lighting installations. You will ensure that all low-voltage systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and Australian standards. The role combines hands-on technical work with coordination and leadership, making it ideal for an engineer who can both lead a team and work collaboratively within one.
-Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the commissioning of electrical systems within tunnel environments, including:
*Electrical rooms.
*Ventilation systems.
*Emergency lighting.
*DALI lighting systems.
* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure commissioning activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
* Resolve technical issues swiftly and effectively, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ensure compliance with TfNSW specifications and Australian Standards throughout all commissioning phases.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and subcontractors.
-Requirements:
* A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer in tunnel/highway/bridges/ heavy civil construction projects or similar.
* Proven expertise in commissioning electrical rooms, ventilation, emergency lighting, and DALI lighting.
* Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with strong technical acumen.
* Demonstrated experience working on TfNSW projects or similar government infrastructure.
* Hands-on approach and willingness to engage in field commissioning activities.
* Strong communication and coordination skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
* Deep understanding of relevant Australian Standards and regulatory frameworks.
-Working Hours:
Monday to Friday- 40 hours weekly- depends on project demands-
