Competency and Compliance Specialist Role
This pivotal role supports the onboarding framework for all persons prior to working on any project site within a rail network alliance.
The role acts as the main point of contact for rail operator competency and contractor onboarding queries. It also conducts compliance monitoring and reporting, performance measures gathering, and developing fit-for-purpose processes and systems.
About the Job
* Support the development and implementation of competency frameworks for the alliance.
* Advise on ensuring contractor onboarding processes are in place and efficient.
* Routine checks on rail industry worker (RIW) compliance status for alliance staff and contractors.
* Work with non-owner participants (NOPs) on RIW and induction matters.
* Engage with stakeholders to resolve queries relating to RIW and assist with troubleshooting.
* Collaborate with the people team on training and induction matters.
* Complete regular site visits and liaise with project personnel on RIW requirements.
* Generate performance information for lead and lag metrics.
* Prepare regular reports and updates.
* Review site inspection reports and provide feedback to the health and safety manager.
* Maintain knowledge of RIW information and communicate changes to RIW requirements.
* Analyze system processes for opportunities for innovation and enhancement.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with project and employer stakeholders.
* Support project staff during peak resource demand periods.
Key Responsibilities
The Competency and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for:

Requirements
* Demonstrated administration experience, preferably in construction or rail.
* Data management and process-driven experience with accuracy and efficiency.
* Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills.
* Basic accounts, data, and administrative knowledge.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Teamwork and interpersonal relationship-building skills.
* Pressure management and organizational skills.
* Able to travel to multiple sites across metro Melbourne.
