Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role:
The Platform and Solutions Architect is responsible for assessing, designing, enhancing, and implementing infrastructure and technology solutions that support the company's data and IT operations. This role ensures that platforms and applications are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. It includes overseeing technology architecture, maintaining security standards, and recommending solutions based on emerging technologies. The role requires close collaboration with technical and business stakeholders to deliver robust and future-ready platforms that support operational and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to the following:
* Architect and operate scalable, secure, highly available cloud environments matched to organisational needs.
* Deliver data environment for real (or near real time) analytics via cloud-based data solutions to support BI tooling.
* Safeguard uptime and data accessibility across all project stages through resilient designs.
* Migrate legacy systems to the cloud, boosting performance, enabling remote access, and integrating seamlessly with Power BI.
* Data Integration and Management
* Assess data platforms for scalability, performance, cost, security, and fit with existing architecture.
* Build data pipelines that consolidate information from diverse business systems into a central warehouse or query sources directly.
* Maintain consistent data flow by integrating both legacy and new sources across key applications.
* Define data integration points and oversee data pipelines, API and Webhook connections.
* Enforce security controls—encryption, access management, compliance—on every data platform.
* Monitoring, Observability & Workflows
* Deploy monitoring stacks (e.g., Grafana, Azure Monitor) to track application and cloud health.
* Surface live dashboards of system KPIs, resource utilisation, and project progress for stakeholders.
* AI Integration and Enablement
* Identify high-value AI opportunities (e.g., Azure AI, Copilot, GPT) that drive measurable business impact.
* Support integration of AI solutions into existing systems to enhance efficiency, insight, and user experience.
* Implement AI-driven applications aligned with strategic objectives, ensuring data security and compliance.
* Advise on emerging AI trends and lead proofs of concept to validate new capabilities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job:
* Recognised Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or similar.
* 5+ years of experience in software architecture, systems design, information technology, or related technical roles.
* Proficiency in JSON, Python, R, SQL, Bicep, Bash scripting, PowerShell scripting.
* Good verbal communication skills, ability to write clearly and concisely.
