Position Title: AOD Case WorkerClassification: SCHADS Level 4 Location: Mount Isa Status: Full Time**Why this role matters**The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.**The role**As an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Case Worker, you will provide comprehensive case management and support to participants, helping them achieve their recovery goals. This includes developing and monitoring case plans, managing risks, and conducting drug and alcohol testing in line with program requirements.You will work collaboratively with diverse communities and partner organisations, applying your knowledge of AOD and mental health to empower participants and facilitate meaningful, lasting change. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives while benefiting from flexible working conditions and employee support programs within The Salvation Army’s inclusive and values-based environment.**How you will make an impact*** Identify, assess, and manage participant risks in line with organisational policies and procedures.* Supervise the collection of urine samples for drug and alcohol testing in accordance with centre guidelines.* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.* Maintain current knowledge of referral pathways, community supports, and service networks relevant to participant needs.* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the AOD, community services, and health sectors.* Provide effective case management and support to individuals affected by substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions.* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support participant outcomes.* Work respectfully with participants from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and various faith traditions.**What you will bring*** Relevant Certificate or Diploma qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services, Mental Health, or a related field, or equivalent experience and on-the-job training.* Demonstrated experience in case management or related community services roles.* Current and valid First Aid Certificate.* Current Driver’s Licence.* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)**What we offer**The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:* Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.* Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.* Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport* Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.* Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.The Salvation Army (Salvos) is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
