About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established manufacturing business operating in a high-volume production environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational performance.
The organisation operates a busy site with multiple production lines and a diverse workforce across operations, quality, and support teams. Safety plays an important role in daily operations, with a strong focus on practical safety processes, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of HSE and working closely with site leadership, the Work Health & Safety Officer will support the delivery of day‐to‐day safety activities across the site.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys being present on the floor, engaging with operational teams, and assisting with the implementation of practical safety processes in a busy manufacturing environment. You will work closely with operations, quality, training, and people & culture teams while developing your experience across a broad range of health and safety activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting daily safety activities across multiple production lines through floor walks, inspections, and hazard identification
* Undertaking risk assessments and safety reviews across operational areas
* Supporting incident investigations and tracking corrective actions through to completion
* Delivering toolbox talks, safety communications, and engagement with operational teams
* Supporting injury and incident management processes in collaboration with site resources
* Maintaining safety documentation, registers, and records within the site safety management system
* Assisting with the preparation of safety reports and basic safety performance data
* Supporting the rollout of site safety initiatives and improvement activities
* Maintaining a visible presence on the factory floor to support safe work practices
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
* Exposure to safety within manufacturing, food processing, logistics, or similar
* Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with frontline teams
* A practical, hands‐on approach and willingness to learn in a fast‐paced environment
* Practical knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and high‐risk machinery safety
* A positive attitude and genuine interest in developing a career in health and safety
