About the Role


Support the delivery of quality guardianship services to our customers, with the aim of achieving the best possible outcomes for people who are not able to make decisions themselves, consistent with the Principles of the Guardianship Act and the Public Guardian's standards.

This is achieved through ensuring the NSW Public Guardian Division and wider NSW Trustee and Guardian Divisions can access up-to-date and relevant guardianship knowledge and information.

The Practice Manager understands the key issues across sectors that impact guardianship and its effect on people with challenged decision-making capacity and supports the NSW Public Guardian's advocacy for them.

Key to the role is the ability to effectively consult with guardianship teams to continually review and improve guardianship practices, protocols and policy.


Main Responsibilities

* Demonstrated experience in the development of complex policies, guidelines and other documents at organisational level
* Demonstrated understanding of guardianship practice, advocacy, and other services accessed by people with vulnerability
* Sound strategic thinking capacity, management, and administrative skills
* Proven ability to support the delivery of services in a complex customer environment
* Strong leadership and managerial skills, including stakeholder engagement and collaboration
* Ability to coordinate and oversee the effectiveness of policies and procedures relating to guardianship
* Proficiency in identifying gaps and developing solutions for policy development, updates, and implementation
