About us
At Activate Mental Health (AMH), we believe #itsmorefuntogether. Activate Mental Health is Perth\'s biggest community-led mental wellbeing support group. Founded by Rahul Seth CA, a Chartered Accountant, this group has become a powerful force in Perth\'s mental health sector. Rahul was named WA Volunteer of the Year in 2023.
What began as a grassroots idea has grown into a thriving charity with more than 7,000 members. In 2025, our volunteer team of 48 dedicated Activators delivered 399 events, generating 2,998 RSVPs, all financed on a budget of just $12,700. Activate Mental Health\'s primary source of income is financial sponsorship, which currently exceeds our core operational costs (including insurance, subscriptions, volunteer rewards, and training and development). We also receive additional support through grants and donations. The HBF Run for a Reason is our only formal fundraising initiative.
Activate Mental Health currently has no paid staff but is actively working towards hiring in the future to support expansion beyond the central Perth metropolitan area. We also aim to build a broader network of volunteers who can contribute during the day. Activate Mental Health is intended to remain a Perth-based organisation.
Our 2025 Annual Impact Survey shows just how deeply this work resonates:
* 74% of participants reported improved mental health
* 80% felt less socially isolated
* 67% joined to make new friends
* Every single respondent said they would recommend AMH to others
From walking groups and coffee catch-ups to board games, TED-style discussions, and pub quizzes, Activate Mental Health continues to build genuine connections, reduce isolation, and create a fun, welcoming community across Perth, proving that peer-led support can change lives.
Our goals
Our Aspiration: Improving well-being through fun and human connection.
Our Mission: Peer-led fun activities to overcome social isolation.
Our values
* Connection – A sense of belonging.
* Fun – Boosting happiness levels.
* Inclusion – Feeling personally valued.
