We provide comprehensive support through a commitment to differentiation for the purpose of learning support and extension to ensure every student is guided on their educational journey. Our school has 850 students with 99% coming from language backgrounds other than English and fewer than 1% who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
We provide Community Languages programs in Bengali, Urdu, Arabic and Indonesian and celebrate the cultural diversity within our school community through strong parent partnerships. We are committed to the holistic development of every child and our students can participate in a range of extra‐curricular activities such as dance, choir, debating, public speaking and multiple sporting programmes.
Students leave our school prepared for their future in high school as a result of our high quality academic and wellbeing programmes.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education
* Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programmes with an emphasis on explicit teaching and student engagement within the Information Fluency Framework
* Understanding of the educational needs of students from non‐English speaking backgrounds and with diverse learning needs
* Highly developed communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents
* Capacity and willingness to undertake whole school initiatives designed to promote reading
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
