About the Client
This is a rare opportunity to join an iconic Australian consumer brand at the start of a significant growth chapter. Backed by a major global private equity firm, the business has a strong manufacturing heritage, a loyal customer base, and a clear mandate to scale - domestically and internationally. The business operates across manufacturing and retail channels, is expanding into new product categories, and is actively evaluating international market entry. It's a genuinely exciting moment to join. With an exceptional EBITDA margin, double‐digit revenue growth, and a PE sponsor with deep resources and global reach, the platform is in place.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO with a strong commercial and M&A background, this is a blank‐slate Financial Controller position. You will be the first senior finance hire into a business which means real ownership, real impact, and the chance to build something from the ground up.

The successful applicant should have
You are CA or CPA qualified ideally with a Big 4 or mid‐tier foundation, and you've since made the move into industry – progressing to Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller level in a business where you've had to roll your sleeves up.
* Strong technical grounding – controls, month‐end, statutory reporting, audit, tax
* Exposure to standard costing and manufacturing or retail environments
* A track record of reviewing and improving finance systems and processes
* Genuine leadership experience – you've built and developed teams. You invest in the people around you, coach them deliberately, and take pride in seeing them grow
* The commercial curiosity to partner with senior leadership
* Experience in a PE‐backed, founder‐led, or otherwise fast‐paced business
On leadership specifically
This role will start lean and grow. The Financial Controller needs to be the kind of leader who can attract good people, develop them quickly, and create a culture of accountability and high standards within the finance team. If you've built a team from a small base and take genuine satisfaction from that, this will appeal.

* PE‐backed with a clear growth mandate – the business is targeting significant scale
