Development Compliance Officer

Full-time - Ongoing

Position Number: 4514 & 4550 Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $1, $2,027.82 gross per week + 12% super. (Evaluated as Grade 14 of the QPRC Salary System 2025).

Full time - 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements will be considered.

Ready for role that's as dynamic as it is meaningful? Council is looking for an inquisitive, solutions‑focused team player to join our high‑performing Development Compliance Team.

In This Role You Will

Conduct inspections and investigations across a diverse range of sites to ensure compliance with Planning and Building Legislation
Provide advice to support safe and compliant development in a rapidly growing LGA
Resolve issues using sound judgement and practical problem‑solving and make recommendations on potential enforcement options
Help protect community safety, amenity and environmental standards.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

Has qualifications and/or extensive experience in Building Surveying, Town Planning or Environmental Health
Communicates confidently and delivers excellent customer service in all interactions.
Applies legislation accurately and approaches compliance with fairness and professionalism.
Works collaboratively as part of a supportive, high‑performing team.
Solves problems with sound judgement and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
