The Electricity Transmission team lead a safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable regulated network today and into the future, fulfilling customer, community and stakeholder needs and expectations.
About the Role
This role ensures that all estimates are grounded in technical understanding, aligned with project scope and design requirements, and reflect current market conditions.
With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this permanent, full-time role is based in Southbank and is part of the Electricity Transmission team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
* Estimation Management:Prepare and review accurate cost estimates across all project phases, aligned with internal standards.
* Review Technical Requirements: Assess specs and constraints, clarify as needed, and coordinate across all engineering disciplines.
* Estimation Review: Present estimates, analyses, and comparisons to leadership for informed decision-making.
* Stakeholder Communication: Ensure clear, proactive engagement to support project alignment and timely decisions.
* Risk Analysis: Assess project risks and allocate contingency appropriately.
* Technical Support: Apply core technical judgment to aid problem-solving and outcomes, seeking senior input as needed.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Civil), or construction trade qualification — proven industry experience also considered
* Minimum 2 years of local experience in an Estimator role in the electrical transmission and distribution space essential
* Proficiency in industry-standard cost estimation tools and methodologies
* Solid understanding of electrical transmission systems
* Strong analytical mindset with sharp problem-solving skills
* Meticulous attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy
* Self-motivation and comfort working autonomously, while also thriving in a team-based environment
