We are seeking a dedicated, hands‐on Shift Supervisor to assume responsibility for day‐to‐day supervision of production activities and relevant production employees at our Townsville site. Reporting directly to the Production Manager and working closely with the Site Manager and other relevant production, administration and maintenance staff, the ideal candidate will be action‐orientated and have demonstrated leadership abilities to drive the achievement of company objectives for the Townsville site. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a commitment to upholding our company values.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Production Manager and Site Manager to ensure the health and safety of all employees and visitors in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
* Implement and enforce all safety and quality procedures, including Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), safety permits, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and incident reporting.
* Ensure that all products leaving the site meet customer specifications and adhere to Ridley's quality standards.
* Monitor the supply of raw materials to maintain adequate quantities for production needs.
* Work with the management team to oversee the repairs and maintenance of production equipment to support quality and production objectives.
* Supervise employees during shifts, providing direct oversight and support.
* Lead the team through effective task allocation while establishing and maintaining clear standards of behaviour and performance aligned with company objectives.
* Maintain daily production records.
* Actively support site initiatives related to Ridley programs, community engagement, responsible recycling and waste management, and environmental compliance.
* Work a structured Monday to Friday rotating roster across day, afternoon, and night shifts.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership skills within a manufacturing environment and prepared to undertake additional training where necessary.
* Competent in hazard identification and risk management coupled with a sound knowledge of quality assurance and control methods and production management issues.
* Effective communication skills.
* Results driven with the desire to see the team succeed.
* Attention to detail with the ability to query inconsistencies.
* High level of initiative and accountability.Excellent problem‐solving and organisational skills.
* Basic computer skills.
* A strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
* Passionate about quality of production and adhering to safety standards.
