This leader in medical devices are looking for a permanent WHS Manager to join their team at their busy DC. Interstate travel will be expected on occasion.
**Your new role**
The key purpose of the WHS Project Manager is to establish the governance and reporting for the WHS function, ensure the appropriate training & support is provided to responsible staff and facilitate the implementation of the recommendations from our external WHS provider.
The WHS Project Manager will lead all aspects of the implementation and maintenance of the risk strategies within the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish governance process for WHS group wide, including the establishment of Group and Site WHS committees
- Develop safety training & awareness modules aimed at improving safety awareness and improving safety culture
- Establish reporting of lead & lag indicators at site level and for reporting to the Board.
- Develop reporting for Workers' Compensation Claims reporting.
- Create/develop/conduct workshops for safety training as identified by external provider.
- Review processes for Incident analysis/prevention, safety policies/procedures, regulatory compliance, safety training as required by law, WHS, Risk Management.
- Identify further areas for improvement or focus
- Review and update the WHS policies, form and manuals as required.
- Conduct any serious Incident investigations and provide assistance to operations for regulatory visits / inspections.
- Establish a cadence for OHS audits and provide reports to the Board.
- Knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatory compliance for WHS, risk management, disposal of chemical and handling of dangerous goods, risk assessments
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in management of a WHS function preferably in a warehouse environment.
- WHS tertiary qualification (diploma or equivalent) preferred
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and monitoring of WHS Management System, and the supporting plans, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Strong knowledge of current the ISO 9001:2015 standard and WHS legislation
- Experience in the implementation and evaluation of risk assessments, safety, compliance programs, workplace inspections
- Auditing qualification - lead auditor preferred
- Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to develop practical solutions
