DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate VAL Operator Specialist in Goulburn.
The position is responsible for managing inventory using a computerised database system. The primary objective will be to liaise with the customer regarding the flow of inventory in and out of the warehouse, which covers a variety of tasks, such as order preparation, location planning, inventory maintenance and storage location planning.
**Your typical day at DSV**:
- Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines.
- Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are received and despatched.
- Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts.
- Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity and location discrepancies between stock and records.
- Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures in order to maximise efficiency and cut operational costs.
- Respond to customer enquiries; collect and analyze data to determine appropriate order quantities; process orders for shipment.
- Track rates of accuracy, prepare inventory reports; review reports monthly with management.
- Assist with quality control for both receipted and despatched products.
**About you**:
- Minimum of one year of related experience in retail, wholesale, warehousing, or logistics.
- Proficient with computers and other standard office technology.
- Familiarity with warehouse software.
- Ability to deal with numbers quickly and accurately.
- Superior organisational and communication skills.
- Current LF forklift licence preferred.
