Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class Zinc-Lead mine with a long future. You'll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process Zinc, Lead and Silver from our open cut mining operations. They are then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers all over the world. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Drill & Blast Engineer to join our Technical Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the mine's drill and blast operations. Your work will optimise safety and productivity across our mining operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement and manage safe, efficient, cost-effective drill and blast patterns
* Monitor and maintain blasting schedules, records, and reporting systems
* Work closely with mining and geology teams to align blast designs with operational goals
* Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in blast performance
* Ensure compliance with site procedures, safety standards, and statutory requirements
What We're Looking For
* Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Mining or similar relevant tertiary qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
* Demonstrated knowledge of mining engineering in open pit mines that includes a minimum of three years' site based experience.
* Proven ability to deliver safe engineering solutions and improve productivity outcomes
* Previous experience with blast design and modelling software (ShotPlus, BlastIQ) and mine design software (Vulcan).
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping
* A proactive mindset with a genuine desire to contribute to the MRM team and the broader Glencore group
* Demonstrated commitment to safety
