Job Description
The GUMURRII Student Success Unit supports Griffith’s Indigenous student community with services from schools outreach to recruitment, orientation to graduation in a safe and culturally appropriate learning environment. The TSP Officer works within the Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Indigenous) and reports to the Tutoring for Success Program Coordinator. The TSP is a supplementary academic tutorial initiative to enhance First Peoples students’ experience and success at university. The team matches eligible students with qualified course-specific tutors and ensures the program meets the needs of current First Peoples students across the university.
In the role you will:
- Work with the GUMURRII Student Success team to advise and facilitate recruitment of First Peoples students into the Tutoring for Success Program.
- Coordinate sign-on for commencing and continuing students, conduct student assessments and interviews.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures and practices to provide timely, high-quality tutoring services and continuous improvement.
- Provide frontline support with First Peoples students at all levels of study to assess and identify learning needs, and promote GUMURRII services and facilities.

You will also have:
- A degree with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of skills, knowledge and experience. Higher education/training experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated administrative skills, including word-processing, spreadsheet and database software experience.
- A passion for collaboration and engaging with people.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering high-quality student service with exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Blue Card or willingness and ability to obtain one.
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. This is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
Proof of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage is a requirement for appointment. Requirements include:

What we can offer
This is a continuing contingent, full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Sites are on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary is HEW Level 6 range $91,843 - $97,964 per annum + 17% superannuation. Total FTE package: $107,456 - $114,618 per annum.
