Overview

We are looking for a Marketing Communications Manager / Lead Writer to lead thought leadership and content development across APAC. This role sits at the intersection of PR, content, and marketing, and is responsible for shaping compelling narratives that position Monks as a leader in marketing, technology, and culture.
You will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to develop high-quality content, amplify key moments (including events), and build a consistent and credible voice in the industry.
Responsibilities
* Thought Leadership & Content Creation
* Lead the development of thought leadership content across APAC
* Write and edit:
o Articles and opinion pieces (e.g. Campaign, WARC, trade media)
o LinkedIn posts and executive narratives
o POVs on key industry topics (AI, commerce, social, content, technology)
* Translate complex ideas into clear, engaging, and impactful content
* Shape and refine leadership voices across the region
* Awards & Industry Recognition
o Support awards strategy, submissions and logistics across APAC (e.g. Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, Campaign Asia Awards, Spikes Asia, Effies)
o Partner with internal teams to identify award-worthy work and stories
o Manage timelines, submissions, and coordination with markets and global teams
o Leverage award wins for PR, content, and amplification
* Event Content & Amplification
o Work closely with event team to develop and maximize event impact
o Repurpose event content into:
+ Social content
+ Articles and PR stories
+ Case studies and internal materials
* PR & Media Relations
o Identify and develop media opportunities
o Support pitching of stories to key industry and trade publications
o Build and maintain relationships with relevant media contacts
* Content Strategy & Systems
o Work closely with Marketing VP to establish a consistent content cadence across markets
o Build a repeatable framework to turn key moments into ongoing content
o Ensure alignment with global messaging while localizing for APAC relevance
Qualifications
* 6–10 years of experience in PR, content, editorial, or communications
* Exceptional writing and editing skills in English (native or near-native level), Mandarin is a plus
* Experience developing thought leadership or long-form content
* Strong understanding of marketing, advertising, and media landscape
* Ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate ideas into narratives
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Experience
* Background in agency, advertising media, or editorial/journalism
* Experience working across multiple APAC markets
* Familiarity with industry platforms such as Campaign, WARC, or similar
* Experience supporting events, speaking engagements, or executive profiling
