The Mustang Nepalese Restaurant & Bar is an established Nepalese restaurant in Canberra, operating since 2017 and specialising in traditional Himalayan and Nepalese cuisine. The restaurant provides dine-in services and caters to a diverse customer base, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dietary requirements.
The Cook role is a full-time, ongoing position supporting the Head Chef in the daily operation of the commercial kitchen. The position involves food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen standards in accordance with business requirements, food safety regulations, and workplace health and safety obligations.

Task & responsibilities
* Prepare, season, cook, and present food in accordance with menu requirements
* Apply appropriate cooking techniques to deliver authentic Nepalese and Indian dishes
* Portion meals, plate dishes, and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes as required
* Assist with menu planning and daily food preparation schedules
* Store and preserve food correctly, ensuring appropriate temperature control
* Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
* Assist with ordering food supplies and managing kitchen inventory
* Support and train junior kitchen staff when required
Qualification & experience
* AQF Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Minimum one year of relevant full-time experience in a commercial kitchen
* Experience in Nepalese and/or Indian cuisine is highly regarded
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays
