We are looking for experienced Trades Assistants to support our welding and fabrication teams, playing a key role in the construction, assembly and maintenance of vessels. This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a fast-paced shipyard while growing your skills alongside experienced tradespeople.

Position Summary
Trades Assistants provide essential support to skilled tradespeople by undertaking routine tasks that enable the team to operate efficiently and maintain productivity. This role involves assisting the welding and fabrication teams with the construction, assembly and maintenance of vessels.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes
* Qualification at Certificate II level (desirable).
* Understanding of trade related tasks in welding and/or fabrication.
* Experience using power tools.
* Current White Card.
* Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* A demonstrated strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
* Competent in reading and understanding technical drawings under supervision.
* Operate power tools and hand tools in accordance with safety procedures.
* Deliver tools, materials, supplies and equipment to the relevant work area.
* Assist with setting up work areas and preparing materials and equipment.
* Conduct general work area cleanliness, tidiness and litter management tasks.
