Community Home Australia is a specialist younger onset dementia service providing permanent care, respite care and day programs across Canberra. We have staffing ratios of 1:3 in a non-institutional setting.
We are seeking to engage a disabikity support worker for permanent NIGHT DUTY.
All applicants must :
* hold a Certificate IV in Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent)
* have a desire to work with people living with dementia
* have completed training in medication administration and have experience administering medications
* have a desire and willingness to complete ongoing education and training
* be currently living in Australia
* have authority to work in Australia
The role is a combination of aged care work, activities and household tasks including cleaning, laundry and food preparation. We require all staff to display flexibility and a willingness to engage with our guests to enable them to live their lives as they wish. The homes are managed by a full time Registered Nurse who provides supervision and clinical support and each house has a Team Leader who coordinates daily supports.
