About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in developing exceptional learning experiences for students. As an SME, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality online courses that meet the needs of diverse learner audiences.
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement curriculum plans that align with course learning outcomes and objectives. You will work closely with Learning Experience Designers, Developers, and stakeholders to ensure that the content is relevant, accurate, and meets the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and experience in online teaching at tertiary level. Proven experience in curriculum design and digital course development is strongly preferred. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of current e-learning trends and best practices for student engagement.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:
* Curriculum planning: Participating in workshops to map course architecture, assessment strategy, and individual learning activities.
* Stakeholder collaboration: Working closely with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to align course content with practical and academic insights.
* Learning design support: Collaborating with Learning Designers to co-develop authentic learning activities, performance tasks, and identify opportunities for formative or automated feedback.
* Content development: Writing and structuring course content based on a pre-approved course map, ensuring academic accuracy and appropriate referencing.
* Assessment design: Creating assessment tasks and rubrics in collaboration with Learning Designers and client/partner academic leads, including development of supporting materials such as case studies or data sets.
* Media planning: Supporting the creation of bespoke multimedia content by drafting interview scripts, prompts, or outlines as needed.
* Resource coordination: Liaising with university librarians to source and clear course materials; coordinating with graphic designers to develop course imagery.
* Content sourcing: Identifying and integrating contemporary, relevant learning resources to enhance course content.
* Quality assurance: Reviewing all course components from a subject matter perspective to ensure academic quality and relevance.
* Feedback implementation: Incorporating feedback from clients and partners throughout the development process to ensure content meets project expectations.
We offer a fully remote contract-based opportunity for successful candidates. Contractors based in Australia are required to hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN). A current Working with Children Check may be required, depending on the client or partner's requirements. All successful candidates must complete reference checks and qualification verification prior to engagement.
