Reporting into the Head of PR & Communications, the PR & Communications Specialist will have a passion for sustainability and take an active interest in topical news related to the environment. You will have a curious mindset and a knack for unconventional approaches to traditional communication methods. Ethics and integrity are highly regarded values.
The PR & Communications Specialist will not only be a key member of the local communication function but also the wider Polestar Australia team, which values collaboration and offers a supportive team culture. You will demonstrate great communication and organisational skills, have a curious mindset and be a proactive self-starter.
This role will be based in Sydney, Australia.
**What you'll do**
There are more than 60 car brands in Australia at any given time, so bringing your creative flare to stand out from the crowd is a must You will be involved in everything from media relations and events to corporate communications, employee engagement and government relations. You certainly won't be bored, and you'll hone your communication experience and skills on the job.
- Daily monitoring of news reports
- Write external communication material for media, partners, stakeholders and customers
- Support Polestar partnerships by developing communication strategies to promote events and activities
- Assist with media requests for brand and develop product communication skills
- Manage the national media test drive fleet to achieve earned media coverage across lifestyle, general, auto, influencer and tech media
- Assist with the planning and execution of new vehicle launches to media and other key stakeholders
- Daily interaction with various external suppliers including PR, events, fleet, transport, photographers and media monitoring
- Oversee reporting of metrics and budgets
- Drive internal communication including monthly town halls, newsletters, Parallax communication portal news etc.
**Who you are**
A positive attitude and a willingness to jump into new challenges is a must This is a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment. It will require excellent stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to be flexible in your mindset and approach. Attention to detail in developing and executing media materials, managing the national press fleet and departmental budget will be necessary.
- Successful track record in managing stakeholder engagement across external and internal audiences
- Detailed understanding of media engagement, how to pitch and write media releases for different mediums and media outlets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present
- Experience working with agencies, consultants and budgets
- This position will require occasional travel
- A Bachelor's degree preferably in communication with three-to-five years' experience
