The Opportunity
We are seeking a newly qualified mechanic with 0–3 years of post-apprenticeship experience (or possibly a fourth-year apprentice, depending on mindset and type of experience). This newly created role reporting to our Senior Maintenance Technician is based at our Mildura Warehouse on Sandown Drive and will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing maintenance and repair of a wide range of farm machinery, with a focus on quality repairs and minimising downtime.
What You Will Do In The Role
* Maintain & Repair: Assist with scheduled and breakdown maintenance as required.
* Collaborate: Learn from the experienced Maintenance Technicians and Senior Maintenance Technician & work closely with farm staff to coordinate servicing and repairs.
* Improve: Learn and apply lean and 5S principles to drive efficiency and quality in maintenance practices.
* Ensure Safety: Work in line with safe work practices and compliance with our Safety Management Systems.
* Travel: Support other ofi sites and farms in the region where required, travelling with use of company vehicle.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualifications: A mechanical trade qualification (or close to finalising a qualification/apprenticeship) in light vehicle/mobile plant, or heavy commercial vehicle repairs. An automotive air conditioning repair qualification will be an advantage.
* Experience: 0-3 years' experience in equipment repairs and maintenance. Specifically in diagnosing electrical/electronic, hydraulic, fuel and mechanical systems. Previous positions held in a workshop essential.
* Skills: Good understanding of programmed machinery maintenance, with capable computer and risk assessment skills. Passionate about continuous improvement.
* Other: Current car licence required.
