Role Overview:
This role requires a friendly and organized Medical Receptionist to work at the front desk of a medical clinic and assist patients and other visitors.
Primary job duties include greeting and checking in patients, answering questions, collecting patient payments, processing paperwork, and scheduling appointments.
Additionally, you will help maintain records and work areas clean and organized, ensuring the office provides a welcoming environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Open and close the clinic according to set procedures.
* Greet patients and callers in a professional manner.
* Make appointments for patients.
* Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
* Process patient payments accurately via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transactions.
* Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover.
* Be knowledgeable about MBS schedules and correct billing procedures.
* Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, and pharmacists politely and helpfully.
* Attend to patient inquiries.
* Handle internal emails.
* Fill in the roster when staff is away or on leave.
* Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy, including cleaning up spills.
* Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with proper scanning, faxing, and filing of documents.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
* Complete recalls.
* Support daily operations of the medical centre.
* Exhibit excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Experience with Medical software (BEST PRACTICE/MEDICAL DIRECTOR).
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills demonstrated.
* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks.
* Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality patient services.
* At least one year experience as a Medical Receptionist in a medical practice required.
Requirements:
* Current Police Check.
* Current Working with Children clearance.
* Current First Aid/CPR certificate.
* Immunisation Record.
* Driving Licence/ Photo ID.
