About the role
Work with other members of the library team to provide a high quality library and information service at Eastern Health. This senior position is responsible for ensuring the availability of electronic systems and resources managed by the Eastern Health Library Service and for developing use of these systems and resources to their full potential. The Library Systems & Resources Manager is therefore highly skilled with online and digital resources and their web applications. This role also assists in the delivery of a high quality literature search service to eligible staff and students as well as undertaking a range of general library duties. In order to provide a comprehensive support to clinicians, researchers, educators and administrators, the incumbent will be expected to work across campus, undertaking regular shifts at each of the physical libraries and available to travel to other Eastern Health sites as required.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
4. Qualifications in librarianship that qualify for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
5. Proven technical abilities and experience with information and communication technologies in order to organise, manage, develop and deliver digital library and information services.
6. Experience in the operational planning and implementation processes of electronic resources including licensing and authentication.
7. Demonstrated ability to conduct expert literature searches in health care specific databases and other sources.
8. Experience in identifying and implementing quality service innovations that result in better outcomes for library users.
9. Demonstrated skills of web design, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery and SQL and best practice portal design to facilitate accessibility, ease of use and optimal retrieval.
10. Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement of work practices and procedures.
11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and exercising self-direction using initiative and operating with little supervision as well as working collaboratively as part of a team within a complex and diverse working environment.
12. Excellent interpersonal, client service and communication skills, with the ability to gain the co-operation and assistance of others in meeting task objectives and to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
13. Advanced knowledge of current issues and trends in library technology and their scope for application to service delivery and resource integration.
