The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
1. Currently be working in or have recent level 6 neonatal intensive care with advanced clinical expertise
2. Required to care for the sickest most vulnerable infants and support less experienced nurses
3. Operationally managing the shift and staff in a fast-paced clinical environment
4. Support the nursing and medical team to provide the essential care of sick or premature infants
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
5. Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
6. Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
7. Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
8. Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
9. Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
10. Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
20. Permanent fulltime, Permanent part time – Minimum 48 hours p.f
21. Base salary ranging from $104,816 - $112,236 per annum, $52.86 - $56.60 per hour
About Us
The Newborn Care Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital is part of Women, Newborn and Children's Services and is comprised of a 12-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a 24-cot Special Care Nursery. The NICU admits babies fulfilling Level 6 Queensland Clinical Services Capability Framework criteria which includes but is not limited to:
22. Extremely preterm infants from 23 weeks gestation
23. Parenteral Nutrition
24. Nitric Oxide therapy
25. Exchange transfusions
26. Therapeutic cooling and Amplitude integrated electroencephalography (aEEG)
27. Neonatal surgical procedures (excluding cardiac surgery and complex surgical conditions which are managed at Mater Mother's or Queensland Children's Hospital)
28. Invasive and non-invasive respiratory support including High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation
