Colac Area Health is excited to invite an Aboriginal Health Liaison Officer to join our team!

Aboriginal Health Liaison officers can help patients by:
1. improving healthcare services and maintaining positive relationships with the Aboriginal community, other service providers and government departments
2. being a link between medical staff and patients and their families, when admitted to hospital
3. helping when discharged from hospital to make sure patients and their families are well supported and understand any future medical care required
4. providing education to Colac Area Health staff to increase understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
5. to make sure of a culturally safe experience while in hospital.
