ABOUT THE ROLE (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Our clientseeks an experienced IT Manager to manage the day-to-day delivery of IT services, ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, and responsive to business needs. The role also supports technology projects, vendor management, and operational planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage the day-to-day delivery of IT services, ensuring high availability, performance, and strong user satisfaction.
* Oversee the IT support function, including direct management and mentoring of the IT Support Officer, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
* Monitor service desk activity, prioritise key incidents, and ensure issues are appropriately triaged and escalated when required.
* Work closely with business units to understand operational IT needs and ensure services effectively support day-to-day operations.
* Support the onboarding and offboarding of staff, including device provisioning, system access, and user support.
* Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers, assisting with procurement activities, licensing management, and contract oversight.
* Assist with monitoring IT budgets, tracking technology usage (e.g. Microsoft 365 licensing), and flagging procurement needs.
* Support the development, implementation, and review of IT policies, procedures, and operational standards.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Previous experience managing IT service delivery, including helpdesk or support operations.
* Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, or similar modern workplace technologies.
* Strong understanding of contemporary IT solutions, security practices, and emerging technology trends.
* Experience developing or maintaining IT policies, procedures, and operational standards.
* Demonstrated ability to manage or contribute to multiple IT projects simultaneously.
* Understanding of IT standards, frameworks, and best practices.
