With an institutional shareholder structure and a decades-long investment horizon, the Corporate Finance function sits at the centre of every major strategic and commercial decision the organisation makes.
The opportunity
Working in close partnership with the CFO, Treasurer and Executive General Managers, the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance is a high-impact role at the heart of the organisation's financial strategy. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned corporate finance professional to exercise genuine influence — advising executive management, shareholders and Board sub-committees on strategic financial matters that carry multi-hundred-million-dollar implications for business value.
You will lead a high-performing Corporate Finance team and take ownership of the organisation's integrated financial model suite that drives valuation, budgeting, business planning, and long-term strategic assessment. You will be the central point of accountability for delivering quarterly shareholder valuations, capital and debt structure analysis, regulatory modelling, tax structuring strategy, and equity distribution forecasting.
The scope of the role is broad and demanding, you will co-author the annual long-term budget pack, lead financial analysis for strategic projects and value opportunities, assist with refinancing and hedging strategy analysis, and liaise directly with shareholder representatives on investment planning and valuation implications. This is a role for a commercially astute corporate finance professional who is equally comfortable in the boardroom and deep in complex financial models.
Required skills & experience
The ideal candidate will bring:
* Comprehensive expertise in corporate finance, including advanced financial modelling, valuation methodologies and capital structure analysis in an infrastructure or asset-intensive context.
* Proven ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, commercially compelling narratives for executive management, boards and institutional shareholders.
* A strong understanding of the Australian regulatory environment, including experience with regulatory modelling and pricing strategy analysis.
* Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team while managing multiple high-priority deliverables to tight deadlines.
* A relevant Commerce or Finance degree; CPA or CA membership (or equivalent) is highly regarded.
