STATEWIDE Paediatric Training Program Recruitment Campaign 2027 – ADVANCED Training
Positions are advertised for the General Paediatric Advanced Training (AT) program across Tasmania, including Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and other regional sites. The program offers accredited positions in General Paediatrics, Rural Paediatrics, Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care, Paediatric Rehabilitation, Adolescent Medicine and Community Child Health, with options for 3‐year "stream" positions or standard 12‐month training posts.

Key Responsibilities
Clinically, trainees will manage private and public in‐patients and out‐patients, provide after‐hours emergency cover, and participate in rotation‐specific duties such as neonatal transport, intensive‐care care, rehabilitation, and community paediatrics. Supervisory responsibilities will involve junior medical staff rostering, education schedule coordination, and contributing to service development and quality improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered medical practitioner with general or limited registration on the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children registration where required.
* Successful completion of mandated pre‐employment checks: conviction checks for violent, sexual, drug, and dishonest offences; identity verification; and disciplinary action checks.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development and willingness to undertake research, education or policy activities.
Benefits & Conditions
Salary is determined in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022. The role is fixed‐term, full‐time day work; 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected education time. Contract commences 1 February 2026 and ends 7 February 2028, with potential for a 24‐month extension. Medical Practitioner Levels 5 (Registrar) to 11 (Senior Registrar).
Employment Period
