About the role:
As a proven leader and strategic thinker, the Director, Clinical Infrastructure Policy and Planning, is a critical role responsible for providing clinical expertise and leadership in service and entity infrastructure planning for health services across Victoria.
The role will ensure continuity in clinical advisory and service planning functions, maintaining alignment between infrastructure projects and the department's service delivery objectives.
The role oversees a team of dedicated service and clinical planners and will work collaboratively as a member of the Health System and Asset Planning branch senior leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that clinical priorities and evidence-based planning inform health infrastructure projects across the state.

About you:
* Act as the primary clinical advisory representative on the client side, ensuring infrastructure projects meet clinical service requirements while working through the Client Office to engage with VHBA and Health Services. Provide expert clinical input into the design, development, and commissioning of new and refurbished health facilities, ensuring alignment with evidence-based models of care.
* Develop and refine clinical service planning processes to ensure infrastructure projects are informed by healthcare demand, capacity needs, and emerging trends. Champion best-practice approaches in clinical facility design, service delivery models, and operational workflows to optimise patient care.
* Oversee entity planning to ensure infrastructure investments align with long-term healthcare system needs and service delivery models. Collaborate with system planners to integrate clinical service demands into infrastructure planning, ensuring consistency with broader health system strategies.
* Maintain and update a repository of health service planning information across health campuses in Victoria.
* Provide expert input and work into the development of the infrastructure pipeline and investment prioritisation decisions to mitigate system risk and optimise resource allocation. Ensure that infrastructure investments align with clinical needs, health service planning priorities, and government health policies.
* Support the Client Office in establishing and overseeing governance frameworks that guide transparent decision-making, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Evaluate clinical outcomes and impacts, and provide strategic insights to the Client Office and VHBA to enhance decision making and continuous improvement in healthcare service delivery.
* Provide authoritative advice on service-related scope changes for health infrastructure projects in development and delivery.
