Multi-award winning luxury hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney seeks a professional Commis Chef in our Culinary Team.
Indulge in the inviting ambience of The Living Room, where our relaxed harbourside all-day dining experience is infused with warmth and hospitality. We provide a business lunch or an intimate dinner, savour the pleasure of connecting over delicious meals in a setting ideal for unwinding beside Sydney Harbour.
Responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities for this role will include the following:
* To ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across kitchen workstations including equipment and ridges.
* Responsible for storing all the dairy products, fish, meats, dry goods and vegetables in correct manner.
* Assist to prepare and cook basic dishes under supervision.
* Preparing all the mis‐en‐place for assigned section.
* Assists in quality control of items and ensure proper storage of food and assist with stock rotation and inventory.
* Support the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Qualifications
* Completion of Chef Apprenticeship.
* Certificate on Commercial Cookery.
* Good Hygiene and food safety Knowledge.
* Safe and accurate knife skills.
* Knowledge and experience in a variety of cooking methods.
* Desired: Experience as Commis Chef in 5‐star hotel restaurants or similar environment.
