We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and passionate employment tax specialist to join our Global Tax Group in Australia on a 6-month fixed term contract, with the option to extend. The role encompasses employment, expatriate, social security and payroll tax advisory for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional seeking commercial experience in an advisory capacity.

**Job Summary**

This advisory role supports two Managers for ANZ and within the Asia Pacific region. In addition to the ANZ geographical responsibilities, the Specialist will also have the opportunity to contribute to expatriate, payroll & employment tax initiatives for the broader Growth Markets region and/or globally on an optional basis. The role presents ample opportunities for learning, growth, and development.

The Specialist will be required to closely partner with Corporate Tax, Payroll, Global Mobility and Legal teams to provide guidance and direction on the development, controls, and oversight of our employment tax compliance programs and related initiatives.

Responsibilities will include the following:

- Provide employment tax/payroll tax and social security advisory support in the ANZ region, helping to set positions, policy and maintain Company compliance;
- Provide individual and employer income and social tax planning advice with the objective of managing risk and maximising planning opportunities for the Company and its employees;
- Determine tax planning opportunities for complex/executive cross-border assignments (e.g., residency, equity plans, structuring of compensation, benefits etc.);
- Support in responding to employment tax/payroll tax and social security audits by federal and state regulators, as applicable;
- Provide employment/payroll tax and social security due diligence and advisory support to our Ventures & Acquisitions (V&A) team in respect of mergers or acquisitions within ANZ;
- Interpret legal and regulatory changes and collaborate across functions to maintain ongoing compliance under new laws, regulations and/or policies;
- Liaise with Accenture stakeholders/leadership and other internal teams including Global Mobility, Global Tax, Controllership, Finance, Human Resources and Legal;
- Ensure internal controls are working effectively for managing expatriate and employment / payroll tax risk and compliance;
- Supervise the management of tax vendor relationships;
- Support in advising upon the employment tax implications for all Global Mobility related and Domestic benefits policies.

**Skills Requirements**:

- Employment/payroll/expatriate tax technical and social security skills/expertise (including but not limited to PAYG/PAYE withholding, STP/Payday reporting, state payroll taxes, SG compliance, tax equalisation and employee share scheme reporting)
- Being pro-active and driven in providing excellent customer service
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task
- Diligent attention to detail
- Experience of working with a remote, multi-cultural team an advantage

**Relationships**:
Reports to: ANZ and Growth Markets Employment Tax Leads

Supervises: No direct reports

External Relationships: Payroll team, tax service provider(s), tax authorities, business stakeholders, Global Mobility Leads, onshore and offshore teams.

**Education**:

- University degree or equivalent higher education qualification
- Qualification in a related field e.g., Tax, Accounting or Legal

**Work experience**:

- Three or more years with an Accounting Firm and/or Multinational Company, advising on employment taxes/payroll taxes and/or social security matters
- Experience with expatriate global mobility tax advisory or compliance an advantage
- Experience working with team members remotely an advantage
