Technical Sales Manager – Microbiome Focused Functional Food & Cosmetic Formulations

We’re seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Manager to join our growing team and lead commercial expansion across the functional food, nutraceutical, and cosmetic sectors. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of science and business—someone who can articulate complex biological concepts with clarity while building strong, long‑term customer partnerships.
As a subject-matter expert across various fields, you will champion innovative bioactive ingredients that support gut and skin health within diverse consumer product applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive Sales Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to grow market share across functional foods, beverages, supplements, personal care, and cosmetic formulations.
* Technical Expertise: Provide scientific and technical support to customers, including explaining product mechanisms, benefits, stability, formulation compatibility, and regulatory considerations.
* Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with formulators, R&D teams, brand owners, and contract manufacturers.
* Product Demonstrations: Deliver technical presentations, application insights, and product training both virtually and on-site.
* Market Development: Identify new market opportunities, application areas, and innovation spaces for postbiotic ingredients.
* Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, marketing, regulatory, and operations to align product capabilities with customer needs.
* Pipeline Management: Lead opportunity tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support business growth objectives.
* Competitive Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends in microbiome health, postbiotics, functional ingredients, and cosmetic science.
About You
You will succeed in this role if you are both technically grounded and commercially driven. The ideal candidate brings:
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cosmetic Science, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
* 2+ years of experience in technical sales, ingredient sales, or formulation support within functional foods, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or microbiome‑related technologies.
* Strong understanding of postbiotics, probiotics, fermentation-derived actives, or bioactives (desirable).
* Proven ability to manage sales cycles, build client relationships, and achieve revenue targets.
* Experience presenting technical concepts to both scientific and non-technical audiences.
