Position: Butcher Assistant / Counter Hand / Food Prep Assistant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Butcher Assistant to join our team. This multi-faceted role involves assisting with meat preparation, serving customers at the counter, and helping with food prep tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-quality food, excellent customer service skills, and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the butcher in cutting, trimming, and preparing various meats
* Handle customer orders, providing friendly, efficient service at the counter
* Package and label meat products, ensuring accuracy and cleanliness
* Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety standards
* Help with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels
* Support food prep duties, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning
* Ensure products are fresh and meet quality standards
* Assist with general store operations as needed
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in food handling, customer service, or kitchen environments is preferred
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety
* Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items
