About The Role
Slade Pharmacy is becoming the new pharmacy services provider to St John of God Private Hospital Geelong in July 2026, and we are seeking Hospital Pharmacists to join our new team in full‐time and part‐time capacities. These permanent positions offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working in a supportive and collaborative hospital environment.
As a pharmacist, you will deliver high‐quality clinical pharmacy services across inpatient and discharge settings, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective medication management. You will conduct medication chart reviews, reconcilations, provide patient counseling on discharge medications, and support day‐to‐day pharmacy operations including dispensing, inventory coordination, and liaising with hospital staff.
Roster
* Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
* Saturday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
* Sunday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Operational start and finish times may vary slightly. The pharmacy operates seven days a week, and availability to participate in the weekend roster at least once or twice per month is preferred. Preferences for regular weekend shifts are welcomed.
Key Responsibilities
* Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
* Coordinate patient medication requirements for inpatient stay and discharge
* Conduct medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients
* Support patients, carers, hospital staff and associated employees
* Educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection and the proper use of medicines
Key Requirements
* Current AHPRA General Registration as a Pharmacist
* Experience in an Australian hospital or community pharmacy
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
