In this role, you'll:
Transport for NSW is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and sustainable transport outcomes for the people of NSW. High quality financial insight and strong financial leadership are critical to supporting informed decision making across the organisation.
You’ll be a trusted advisor and lead the financial management team across the division or branches and enable the divisional and/or branch executive team to make sound decisions by providing strategic financial management advice and financial insight.
You’ll develop strategic expert insights into where operational efficiency and effectiveness can be improved through the interpretation of complex data.
You’ll build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with divisional/ branch leaders and their teams to ensure more open and honest communication to provide greater awareness and transparency of emerging risks, opportunities and trade offs towards improving financial sustainability.
You’ll operate with a level of autonomy that includes the establishment of work plans and strategic priorities, and are fully accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of expert advice provided.
These permanent positions are located at our Macquarie Park office; however, there will be flexibility to work from the offices of the supported divisions or branches.
These roles are governed by our hybrid working model, which forms part of the organisation’s Flexible Working Arrangements and associated procedures. This includes a combination of required onsite attendance at Sydney offices and approved remote working.

About you
You’ll have Tertiary qualification (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with relevant industry experience, and full membership of a recognised professional accounting body.
You are an experienced finance leader with a strong background in financial management and business partnering within a large and/or complex organisation.
You’ll have demonstrated analysis, communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders, influence decision-making, and communicate complex information clearly.
You’ll be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with competing priorities.
You value integrity, accountability and collaboration, and take a considered, professional approach to financial leadership in the public sector.
