Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Planning and Design
: Review project plans and specifications, conduct site visits, and collaborate with the project team to develop drainage strategies. Analyze hydrological data, perform hydraulic modeling, and design effective drainage systems.
Project Management
: Oversee execution of drainage engineering tasks, ensuring deliveries on time and within budget. Coordinate with other disciplines, manage resources, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Monitor progress, identify and resolve drainage-related issues during construction.
Client Engagement
: Engage with clients, participate in meetings and presentations to discuss requirements, provide updates, and address concerns. Collaborate closely with clients to understand needs, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and deliver innovative drainage solutions.
Quality Assurance
: Conduct thorough reviews of drainage engineering designs and calculations, ensuring accuracy, adherence to industry standards, and compliance with local regulations. Perform technical audits, evaluate system effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
Professional Development
: Allocate time for continuous learning, stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies. Attend conferences, workshops, and training. Mentor junior engineers and foster their professional development.
About You
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drainage engineering for civil engineering projects.
Proficiency in 12d and drains.
In-depth knowledge of hydrological analysis, stormwater management, and drainage system design.
Strong understanding of local regulations and industry standards related to drainage engineering.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Chartered Engineering Status Highly Advantageous.
Proven track record of delivering complex drainage projects on time and within budget.
Demonstrated leadership, managing teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry advancements and best practices.
