Purpose and Impact
The Logistics Specialist position is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate handling, storage and delivery of furniture related products. This role ensures operational continuity across warehouse functions and delivery, supporting inventory integrity, customer satisfaction and workplace safety.
The position integrates warehouse operations, transport logistics and on-site customer delivery, ensuring products are received, stored, handled and delivered in accordance with company standards, safety regulations and customer expectations.
The Logistics Specialist operates across both warehouse and delivery environments and is responsible for:
* Warehouse receiving, storage, picking and dispatch
* Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
* Delivery and installation of furniture at customer premises
* Inventory control and stock accuracy
* Safe operation of manual handling equipment and mechanical aids
* Maintaining workplace safety and compliance with WHS regulations
* Supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
This role involves physical work, manual handling, vehicle loading, customer interaction and coordination with Logistics Supervisor and Senior Logistics Officer.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8 Hours a day
Essential Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations
* Receive goods and verify against delivery paperwork
* Identify and report damage or discrepancies immediately
* Safely unload and store goods using correct handling techniques
* Pick, pack, and prepare items accurately for dispatch
* Assist with stock control, stock takes, and cycle counts
* Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety
* Protect inventory from damage or loss
* Assist with stock rotation and damage prevention
Delivery and Transport Operations
* Load and secure goods safely for transport
* Conduct deliveries to residential and commercial customers
* Safely unload, position, and assemble furniture where required
* Ensure safe handling to prevent injury or product damage
* Operate delivery vehicles safely and in accordance with road regulations
* Conduct vehicle pre-start inspections and report defects
* Complete delivery documentation and accurately obtain customer sign-off
* Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries
Safety and Compliance
* Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures and policies
* Use appropriate manual handling techniques
* Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and equipment (if licensed)
* Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately
* Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations
Operational Support
* Assist with warehouse organization and workflow efficiency
* Support logistics coordination and dispatch planning
* Communicate effectively with management, supervisors and team members
* Assist in maintaining accurate operational records
* Support continuous improvement initiatives
Other
* Any other reasonable duties as requested

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Minimum Essential
* Experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or furniture handling (preferred)
* Ability to safely perform manual handling tasks
* Ability to work in physically demanding environments
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to follow procedures and safety requirements
* Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
Desirable
* Familiarity with SAP applications
* Experience in furniture delivery and installation
* Experience in warehouse inventory systems
* Experience operating forklifts or warehouse equipment
Tickets and Licenses
Minimum Essential
* Forklift License (LF High Risk Work License)
* Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver's License
Desirable
* Manual Handling Training

* First Aid Certificate
Clearance Required:
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian).

* 2 years' experience

EHS REQUIREMENT

Compensation Details
AUS: $79,000 - $83,600 AUD
